Tejashwi Yadav demands recounting of postal ballots

Patna, November 12

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday alleged that they got the support of the people, but the NDA government achieved poll victory through “dhan, chhal and bal” (money, muscle and deceit).

“It is surprising that the NDA got only 12,270 seats more than Mahagathbandhan, and yet they managed to win 15 more seats,” said Tejaswi Yadav.

“We lost 20 seats by a wafer-thin margin. In many constituencies, as many as 900 postal ballots were invalidated,” alleged Tejashwi, casting doubts on the electoral process, adding: “We demand recounting of postal ballots in all those   constituencies where these were counted at the end, and not in the beginning.”

He said that Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) has been relegated to the third position.

“If he has any conscience left, he must give up his attachment to the Chief Minister’s chair,” said Tejashwi upon being unanimously elected by 109 ‘Mahagathbandhan’ MLAs as their leader. PTI alerts
